The Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance has lost one of its greatest supporters with the passing of Robert Harrison (28th December 1939 – 14th June 2021). Robert was a very well respected businessman, a member of The Australian Club, as well as a member of numerous car clubs, a lover of the Opera and Goodwood Revival, a generous friend and mentor, and a loving husband, father, and inordinately proud grandfather of eleven.
A collector of excellent classic motor cars all of his life, he brought his 1964 Austin Mini Cooper S to help celebrate the 60th anniversary of the Mini in 2019 to the first Sydney Harbour Concours held at Lindesay House. In 2020 at Swifts he was again in attendance with the wonderful 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint Speciale, and earlier this year, despite being unwell, made sure that his Porsche 911T and his very special 1974 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 V12 open two seater Commemorative were both on the lawns at Swifts.
We shall miss him terribly, and our thoughts and prayers are with Carol, and children, Lindsey, Claire, and David (who has promised to carry on the family car tradition) at this sad time. Robert in the Alfa SS,
