Rodin Cars, makers of the world’s fastest and most exclusive track cars, is partnering with the Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance for 2022. Based on the South Island of New Zealand, Rodin Cars is the perfect partner for the Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance – an event that prides itself on being the most sophisticated and stylish automobile gathering in the Southern Hemisphere.
“Rodin Cars is looking forward to partnering with the Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance,” said company CEO and founder, David Dicker. “Our cars are designed, built and presented to exacting standards using the latest and most sophisticated technology available. Rodin Cars strives for perfection, giving us common ground with the Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance.”
Based near Mt. Lyford in a stunning part of the South Island of New Zealand, the Rodin Cars facility sits on 1400 acres and includes two configurable test circuits on which the company’s cars are developed and on which clients can experience the pinnacle of motorsport technology. The facility already boasts 1400-square metres of design and engineering capacity, with the company presently finalising a new 2500-square-metre factory on site that will expand production abilities and enable Rodin Cars to bring engine manufacturing in-house. In addition to this space, there is a well-appointed client lounge where it is possible to pour over lap-time data or relax between track sessions
Rodin Cars presently offers the open-cockpit Rodin FZED single-seat racer, a car that produces lap times faster than a Formula 2 race car. Weighing just 609kg, the Rodin FZED is powered by a 3.8-litre Cosworth GPV8 engine that produces 503kW at 9600rpm and 490Nm at 7600rpm.
To give the Rodin FZED’s outputs some perspective, its 826kW-per-tonne power-to-weight ratio is significantly higher than that of a Bugatti Chiron (553kW/tonne). Indeed, to find a more impressive power-to-weight ratio, one needs to look at a current LMP1 racer or Formula 1 car.
Rodin Cars is also deep into the development process for their second model, the closed-cockpit Rodin FZERO. Powered by a twin-turbocharged V10 designed by Rodin Cars, the Rodin FZERO is aiming to produce lap times in line with current Formula 1 cars.
