Star attractions!

There is a fantastic array of cars from 1904 to 2019 in the Concours, split into the following classes and all chasing the Prix d’Honneur for the AXA Best in Show:-

Class One – ‘Super Leicht’,  featuring not one but three iconic Mercedes-Benz 300 SL…

Class Two – ‘Puttin’ On The Ritz’, featuring pre war cars from Bentley, Bugatti, Rolls-Royce, and Alfa Romeo…

Class Three – ‘Action’, with fast cars from Porsche, Chevrolet, Sunbeam, and BMW…

Class Four – ‘Italian Automotive Jewels’, Maserati, Ferrari and Lamborghini…

Class Five – ‘Convertibles of the ’50s’, with cars from Australia, England, and the USA…

Class Six – ‘Coupés from the Kingdom’, DB5, Continental R, Aeromax…

Class Seven – ‘Gary Cooper, Super Duper!’ hypercars including a Pagani Huayra…

Some of highlights and attractions over the two days of the event at Swifts mansion in Darling Point include the SL Parade, the Distinguished Gentleman’s Drive, a Rolls-Royce balanced on four tea-cups (fingers crossed!), a little seen early racing boat from the National Maritime Museum, prizes for the best dressed man and woman from official tailors Oscar Hunt, as well as a host of activations and displays from Maserati, Rolls-Royce, Lamborghini, Genesis, Aston Martin, Bentley, and McLaren, along with jewellers Bulgari, Champagne House Pommery et al, and an auction of important motor cars and luxury travel items.

The auction hero car is undoubtedly the 1904 Napier L48 ‘Samson’ which amongst many other accolades set a world land speed record of 104.65 mph on Daytona Beach, Florida in January 1905. For further information and to request a catalogue please contact james@halcyonauctions.com
