With just three months to go until the third edition of the AXA Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance to be held once again at Swifts in Darling Point on 4th-6th March next year, everything is really starting to take shape. The final entry invitation accepted is this stunning and recently restoration-complete1957 Mercedes-Benz 300SL roadster. This early production car is finished in the special order optional colour of anthracite, with original colour tan interior. Whilst completely restored, it still maintains its original matching numbers engine, transmission, and differential, and comes with its original factory hard top. Now in the hands of just its fifth custodian who purchased this European specification 300SL from California, it will be a welcome addition to the stunning array of vehicles to take part in the Concours, including Bugatti, Porsche, Delage, Alvis, Lamborghini, Ford, Brabham, Continental, Buchanan, Holden, Mazda, Bristol, Ferrari, Triumph, Maserati, and a host of Jaguars celebrating the iconic E-Type’s Diamond Jubilee.
No wonder the AXA Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance continues to appear in the media, with recent reports featuring in The Official Ferrari Magazine #48, and in the much lauded Magneto, issue number 8.
The full list of cars and classes entered into the third AXA Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance will be published on the website in the new year.
