SHCE Best in Show award – SD 480p
Herewith just a little movie to let you know what the Best in Show winner will be receiving this year. Do not forget to book your tickets to be part of the eighth edition of the Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance.
British Artist Simon Cavelle has been appointed as the first ever Artist-in-Residence for the prestigious Sydney Harbour Concours d’Elegance, marking a landmark moment in the event’s history. Cavelle is known internationally for his classic car paintings that are highly prized by collectors.
The appointment reflects the Concours’ commitment to celebrating the intersection of exceptional automotive design, craftsmanship, and fine art. During his residency, Cavelle will be displaying a painting of the yellow Porsche 993 RS CS once owned and driven by legendary New Zealander, Jim Richards who won the 1999 Australian GTP Championship in this car. As part of this collaboration, the Best in Show winner will be awarded a commissioned painting of their winning car, created by Cavelle specifically for the owner — a unique legacy artwork and a lasting celebration of the accolade.
Cavelle offers only a limited number of commissions each year, so participants in the Concours have a rare opportunity to get their name on his list! He has developed a unique portfolio of car artworks, some of which can be seen on his websitehttp://www.pavilionart.com. His ‘Profile’ series in the style of fine art illustrates the majesty of the motor in its purest form. In creating bespoke ‘Garage Art’, Cavelle tells the story of a car, from adventures at Le Mans or the Mille Miglie, to the chassis and engine numbers and quirks of design specific to that vehicle. ‘Icons’ on the other hand, focuses on the emblems, using an ageing and texturing technique to give these marques real style.
